| Vow Renewals in the Great Smoky Mountains Posted: 18 Oct 2016 02:40 PM PDT  Here at WeUseCoupons we have been a family for years. We have been through ups and downs, growths and changes. One thing that has been consistent is that many of us have become life long friends. Some we have met or will meet face to face. Others, we are friends through the internet, emails, and phone calls. You have seen me write quite often about my husband, Robert. Many of you were there for me when my son went off to Marine Corp bootcamp 5 years ago, and were there through his deployments. He served his 4 years and is now getting ready to get married and living locally. What some of you do not know is that I had gastric bypass January 2015. It has completely changed my life and is the best decision I have ever made. Some of you also do not know that I renewed my vows this summer in The Great Smoky Mountains. Those of you that are friends with me on facebook, you have shared my journey, but for those of you that are not, I thought I would share my vow renewal story with you here.  This is my facebook post from the night before our vow renewals in July- Reflections tonight…Tomorrow, I get to marry my best friend all over again. We have had many questions over the last couple of months about our vow renewals…it’s not our anniversary; that is March 13. It is not a significant year; it’s been 12 years. It’s not a big, elaborate event; it’s just the two of us. I’m not wearing my wedding dress; it’s way too big! It’s a simple ceremony, a lace dress I bought from Belks, he will be in khakis and a button down white shirt. My mom made me a beautiful bouquet. We will be the only ones there, along with the minister and photographer. It will be along the banks of the Pigeon River. So why now, why just us, and if you know us well enough, I won’t need to answer why in Gatlinburg. Now was the right time. When you lose 267 lbs, you become a different person, completely different. When we went through pre-surgery seminars they warned us about the high divorce rate because of the changes. We have defied the odds. Because of all the support and love, because of all the days he took care of me through all of this, because of his unconditional love, I wanted to recommit myself, the new me, to my best friend and soul mate. No one understands the entire personal journey I have been through, except for Robert, which is why I wanted it to be just the two of us. I am forever grateful for all the support and encouragement from all my family and friends during my journey. But Robert has walked every step of it with me, cried every tear with me, cheered every pound lost with me, and taken care of me when I wasn’t able to take care of myself. Marriage is hard. It takes work. It takes forgiveness. It takes understanding there will be ups and downs. I am so blessed to be loved by this man. I am so blessed to renew our vows together. I am so blessed to have a new lease on life to share adventures and bucket list items with every day. Tomorrow, I get to be a bride all over again and I am glowing just as if it was March 13, 2004. Not only does it put me that much closer to my favorite holiday, Christmas, but I love the fall colors, the cooler crisp air, hayrides, firepits, and snuggling under blankets. I pushed my luck with my husband and started decorating for fall before it was even labor day. My thought is that once school starts back at the end of August, summer is over and it is time to move on to Fall! Now, I haven’t gotten our pumpkins to carve yet but my Fall scent candles, leaves stuck everywhere, dining room table set, and deep orange, maroon, and brown color decorations are throughout the house. I have my Fall wreaths hanging on the front and side doors, and scarecrows sitting on my porch railings. I love going to Fall Festivals but unfortunately Hurricane Matthew put a damper on that the last couple of weekends. I am looking forward to some fun this coming weekend with festivals and a Boo at the Zoo event at a zoo nearby! Share your favorite Fall pictures with us! | Gas Points 2x VISA gift card ? Posted: 18 Oct 2016 03:43 AM PDT Kinda sucks since the gas deal change. I'm still not used to the $1.50 up to 20 gallons limit but it's better than nothing. Has anyone tried the 2x VISA gift card this week? There's even a note in the ad that says they are now accepting credit card to pay for the gift card. I did for $500 and received 1000 pts. Will it work if I use this card to roll over another card and get another 1000 pts? |
